Our assignment was to paint an abstract composition using only 2 complementary colors and white. We had to have extremely clean lines, mix as many colors as we can from the two colors and make it as smooth as humanly possible (no brush strokes). My colors were permanent light green and light cadmium red.
This is my first geometric abstract painting.

way cool. it looks very clean from what i can tell. did you use tape to get the edges so crisp?
ReplyDeleteYes - a couple rolls of tape. ( lol ) I found that the light blue "artist tape" worked best. The dark blue tape was too weak and wouldn't get a good enough seal to the canvas. I really think you should take painting one; I think you would be pleased with what you can achieve under pressure and speed demands. One of the most important things I wanted to achieve from my abstract was to create a composition not just a bunch of shapes.
